FAQS

DO YOU SHIP TO MY COUNTRY?

Yes, we ship worldwide.  Shipping will be calculated at checkout.

IS IT HARD TO ADJUST TO WILDE TUNING, COMING FROM RICHTER TUNING?

No. The first 5 holes are exactly the same as Richter tuning.  Holes 6,7 & 8 are just the same as holes 2,3 & 4 (but one octave higher) so they feel familiar - anything you usually play on holes 2,3 & 4 you can move up to holes 6, 7 & 8.  Hole 9 is just the same as hole 2 again (2 octaves higher). And the reeds in hole 10 have been reversed, so the 10 blow bend becomes a draw bend.

DO YOU NEED TO OVERBLOW?

No.  Unlike with Richter (standard) tuning, you don't need to overblow to get your minor third or flat five in the upper octave, when playing in second position.  So you can play your blues scale throughout all three octaves using only draw bends.  Wilde Tuning is almost fully chromatic, the only note that you need to overblow for is the minor 6th in second position.

WHAT KEY SHOULD I START WITH?

We recommend starting with a lower key, like and A or a G, as some people find the high draw bends difficult at first.

WHAT IS THE BEST KEY FOR PLAYING ROCK?

It all depends on the song. Rock songs come in ALL keys, the key of the song is usually determined by the singer's range.  However, the most common keys found in rock music are, E, A, G and D, so you would use A,D,C and G harps to play in second position.  We offer a SET of the 5 most commonly used keys at a discounted price.

CAN YOU PLAY WILDE TUNED HARPS IN DIFFERENT POSITIONS?

Wilde Tuning was designed with second position in mind, but you can play them in all 12 positions.

WHAT KEY DOES WILL USE ON FREEBIRD?

Wilde Tuned Seydel 1847  in the key of C

WHAT KEY DOES WILL USE ON LAZY?

Wilde Tuned 1847 in Bb

CAN YOU PLAY CANNED HEAT'S 'ON THE ROAD AGAIN' SOLO ON WILDE TUNING?

Yes.  The 'missing' note in the solo is a minor third, this would be a 6 overblow on a standard harp, but it can be played as a half step draw bend in hole 7 on Wilde Tuning.
